The E190/195 Captain is responsible for ensuring safe and timely flight operations in full compliance with company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations. Responsibilities Include:

  • Conducting safe and timely flight operations adhering to all Company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
  • Determining aircraft airworthiness and evaluating relevant factors such as weather, field conditions, and navigational aids prior to each flight.
  • Operating the aircraft responsibly during the designated duty period unless relieved by authorized company personnel.
  • Supervising and monitoring the enroute performance of assigned crewmembers.
  • Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of flight operations, procedures, and systems relevant to the assigned aircraft.
  • Ensuring airworthy condition of assigned aircraft through thorough pre- and post-flight inspections, according to Company policy and FARs.
  • Acquiring detailed knowledge of existing and forecast weather conditions at departure, arrival, and alternate stations before each flight.
  • Ensuring proper planning and fueling to facilitate safe flight operations in compliance with current policies and regulations.
  • Assisting with the proper handling of aircraft, passengers, baggage, and cargo at terminal points when other company personnel are not available.
  • Promptly notifying crew and passengers of turbulence, adverse weather, or other operational factors affecting the flight.
  • Reviewing the flight load manifest and verifying the passenger count prior to departure.
  • Advising the dispatcher of any situation that may affect the flight schedule, and cooperating with any necessary diversion, cancellation, rerouting, or rescheduling.
  • Adhering to the Rules of Conduct for all employees as outlined in the Company Team Member Playbook and Pilot Playbook.
  • Demonstrating the ability to assess risk and use the proper resources to maintain an acceptable level of safety during all phases of ground and flight operations.
  • Performing other flight officer duties as assigned by the Company.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 23 years of age at the time of hire.
  • High school diploma or equivalent educational achievement.
  • FAA Unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with airplane multi-engine class rating.
  • Minimum of 3,000 hours total fixed-wing flight time.
  • 2,000 hours total time in large, Group II transport category, fixed-wing aircraft (turbojet aircraft of more than 41,000 lbs. maximum takeoff weight).
  • 500 hours of Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time in large, Group II transport category aircraft (turbojet aircraft of more than 41,000 lbs. maximum takeoff weight). (Note: PIC is defined as Captain or Aircraft Commander of record, not simply the sole manipulator of the controls)
  • 500 hours of PIC time in Part 121 operations in the last three years.
  • Actively flying two of the past five years.
  • Maintenance of Pilot training history in accordance with the Pilot Records Improvement Act of 1996 (PRIA).
  • Current First-Class FAA Medical Certificate.
  • Valid FCC Radiotelephone Operator’s Permit.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license or the ability to obtain one.
  • Valid passport or the ability to obtain one.
  • Unrestricted travel to and from the United States.
  • Successful completion of a DOT pre-employment drug test.
  • Successful completion of a TSA-required fingerprint-based criminal history records check and a Breeze background check.
  • Authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language.
