Barton Base Pilot - Eccles, Greater Manchester
Babcock International is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Barton Base Pilot to join its team at the Eccles site in Greater Manchester. This full-time, permanent role offers a competitive salary of £69,791 plus benefits and presents a unique opportunity to contribute to the vital work of the Northwest Air Ambulance Charity.
The Role
As a Barton Base Pilot, you will play a pivotal role in providing critical air ambulance services, including Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) and Night Vision Imaging System (NVIS) operations. This demanding role requires a combination of exceptional flying expertise, medical knowledge, and the ability to handle high-pressure situations effectively.
Responsibilities
- Support HEMS operations utilizing the H145 D3 helicopter.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls, transporting patients to and from hospitals.
- Conduct flights in low-light conditions utilizing night vision goggles.
- Operate in diverse weather conditions and terrain, including urban areas and remote locations.
- Collaborate with medical teams on board the helicopter to ensure optimal patient care.
- Adhere strictly to aviation regulations and safety procedures.
This role operates on a 12-hour shift pattern, with 4 days on and 4 days off, including training hours. The base of operations is Barton Aerodrome in Eccles, Manchester.
Essential Experience
- Current or recent HEMS experience.
- Experience with flight operations using Night Vision Goggles.
Qualifications
- Qualified and Instrument Rated on both the EC135 and EC145 helicopters.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance.
