Babcock | Instructor

Babcock is seeking a Qualified Flying Instructor to join their team at RNAS Yeovilton, near Yeovil, Somerset. This full-time, permanent position involves training military pilots for future roles on aircraft such as Apache, Wildcat, Merlin, and F-35, utilising the Babcock Grob 115E Tutor aircraft.

About the Role

The Qualified Flying Instructor will play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of military aviators. Responsibilities include delivering comprehensive flying instruction, covering navigation, instrument flying, and aerobatics, to students aspiring to become advanced military pilots. The role demands maintaining the highest standards of flight safety, quality, and professional communication while fostering a strong military ethos and supporting student welfare.

• Deliver one-to-one flying instruction and mentor student pilots.
• Conduct flying grading and assessment activities in accordance with approved training standards.
• Complete end-of-course reports and maintain accurate training records.
• Promote and maintain a strong military ethos while supporting student welfare and development.
• Maintain the highest standards of flight safety, quality, and professional communication.

Requirements

• Previous military flying experience.
• Aerobatic flying experience.
• Formation flying experience.
• Experience operating within a highly regulated aviation environment.
• Previous instructional experience is advantageous, particularly as a Qualified Flying Instructor.

Qualifications

• DTTT V2
• Completed the Military Flying Supervisors Course/Flight Authorisers Course
• Hold or have held a CPL with IR (FI preferred)

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance.
