This position offers an exceptional opportunity to play a pivotal role in the future of military aviation. The Flying Grading Instructor supports candidates aspiring to become the next generation of Apache, Wildcat, Merlin, or F-35 pilots. The role involves direct involvement in flying grading activities using the Babcock Grob 115E Tutor aircraft.
Key responsibilities of the Flying Grading Instructor include:
- Conducting one-to-one flying training briefings and flights.
- Completing comprehensive end-of-course reports and fulfilling staff continuation training requirements.
- Actively promoting and maintaining a strong military ethos across 6FTS and the Royal Navy, in alignment with Student Care Directives.
- Upholding the highest standards of safety and quality in all operations.
- Ensuring all communication, documentation, and typed material meets required professional standards.
- Candidates will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or examination as a condition of employment.
This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 08:00 to 17:00, based at either Middle Wallop or RNAS Yeovilton.
Essential Experience:
- Previous military flying experience is required; Qualified Flying Instructor (QFI) experience would be advantageous.
- Extensive experience in civilian flying training or examining is also considered.
Qualifications:
- Must hold or have previously held a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with Instrument Rating (IR). A Flying Instructor (FI) rating is preferred.
- Must hold an Unrestricted UK CAA Class 1 Medical certificate.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Please note that many positions within the company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions. Eligibility may be influenced by factors such as place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and residency.
