ASTONFLY seeks a Deputy Head of Training to join its team at its Toussus-le-Noble, Île-de-France, France location. As an integral part of an Approved Training Organisation (ATO) and exclusive training partner for Ryanair in France, the Deputy Head of Training will support the Head of Training in the comprehensive management and enhancement of pilot training programs.

About the Role

The Deputy Head of Training will play a crucial role in overseeing theoretical and practical pilot training, student progression, and instructor quality. This full-time, permanent position operates on a Monday to Friday administrative schedule. The role offers potential for advancement to Head of Training, anticipating a future retirement.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the Head of Training in the supervision and organisation of theoretical and practical training programmes, including planning and monitoring activities.
• Contribute to the development, updating, and quality control of training materials.
• Monitor student pilot progress and manage any deviations from the training program.
• Ensure adherence to DGAC/EASA regulatory frameworks and internal procedures.
• Collaborate with the Chief Flight Instructor on flight instructor standardisation.
• Support internal audits and preparations for civil aviation authority inspections.
• Represent the Head of Training during their absence, assuming delegated responsibilities.
• Stay abreast of regulatory developments impacting aeronautical training and ensure their implementation.

Requirements

• Possession of a CPL, ATPL EASA, or equivalent pilot licence.
• An instructor rating (FI/CRI/IRI) is mandatory.
• Significant experience as an FI, IRI, or CRI MEP instructor.
• Desirable: Flight Examiner (FE) qualifications.
• Proficiency in aviation regulations, particularly EASA Part-FCL and Part-ORA.
• Excellent organisational skills, rigour, and leadership abilities.
• Strong communication and teaching skills.
• Fluency in both written and spoken French and English.
• Proficiency with standard office software.
