A day in the life of an Ascent Multi Engine Pilot Training Qualified Flying Instructor (MEPT QFI)
As a Multi Engine Flying Training Qualified Flying Instructor (ME QFI) you will be part of a team of experienced military and civilian instructors delivering first class training to the next generation of military multi engine pilots – a typical day will include 2 ‘events’ on the Daily Flying Programme. You will build relationships with stakeholders across all areas of the enterprise, particularly within Number 3 Flying Training School (3 FTS) at RAFC Cranwell. You will:

Instruct relevant aspects of the military Multi Engine Pilot Training syllabus, including general handling, instrument flying, close formation, low level navigation, and landaway sorties within both the UK and Europe

Deliver instruction both live and synthetic on Phenom T Mk 1, a state-of-the-art twin engine training platform

Achieve and maintain a Central Flying School QFI Category and a Green military Instrument Rating

Play a key role in flying supervision and Flight Safety, and actively engage in the open and honest Safety Culture within Ascent and 3 FTS

Assist in the continuous development and improvement of all aspects of courseware and associated training materials.

Work in close partnership with our customer, and other stakeholders, to ensure that our programme requirements, dependencies and expectations are delivered on time, to quality and within budgeted cost

You will be an experienced pilot having operated as part of a crew flying multi engine aircraft, and hold a corresponding instructional qualification.

Have the skills, knowledge and experience to undertake training culminating in the award of a Central Flying School QFI Category and a military Instrument Rating;

A stable Monday to Friday working pattern from permanent bases in the UK; no weekend working and very routine flying patterns.
