Production Test Pilot
Airbus is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Production Test Pilot to join its Flight Test team in Mirabel, Quebec, Canada. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the advancement of aviation within the A220 commercial aircraft program. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in planning and executing flight tests for development, certification, production, marketing, sales, and training purposes.
The Production Test Pilot will be responsible for ensuring flight safety and will work collaboratively with a diverse team of engineers and other aviation professionals. This role requires a proactive individual who can effectively communicate flight test observations, bridging the gap between aircraft design and operational use.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive flight tests on experimental, newly produced, and modified aircraft.
- Assume responsibility for the safety of all flight operations.
- Develop and review test plans and reports for development and certification activities.
- Actively participate in test preparation meetings.
- Collaborate in the planning, coordination, and scheduling of test flights.
- Work with flight test engineers to ensure correct aircraft configuration for testing.
- Generate and disseminate detailed flight reports following each test.
- Identify and report any customer or certification issues.
- Provide support to production flight tests and corporate flight activities.
- Act as an internal customer, verifying the final product.
- Contribute operational insights throughout the program development.
- Support sales and marketing initiatives.
- Assist other departments in customer relations.
- Provide support services to customers, including documentation and training.
- Communicate effectively with engineers and fellow pilots, bridging design and operation.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from a recognized test pilot school or equivalent.
- Possession of an ICAO ATPL, EASA with Flight test rating is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in flight testing of CS-25 transport category aircraft.
- Previous operational experience in an airline environment.
