Job Summary

Philippines AirAsia Inc. is seeking a qualified First Officer to assist the Commander in the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft. This role involves ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining high professional standards in all flight phases, and supporting operational excellence through strong situational awareness, technical proficiency, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in crew briefings, staying informed of aeronautical, meteorological, and technical information, as well as aircraft load.
  • Maintain the validity of all personal licenses, medical certificates, passports, visas, and logbooks.
  • Conduct cross-checks to verify the validity of required documents for all operating technical crew members.
  • Perform duties as Pilot Flying (PF) or Pilot Monitoring (PM) as directed by the Commander.
  • Assist the Commander in managing flight deck operations through effective task distribution, cooperation, information sharing, and monitoring of flight progress, aircraft systems, airspace, and crew performance.
  • Complete and manage all necessary operational documents, including Operational Flight Plans, occurrence reports, and Voyage Reports.
  • Finalize aircraft documentation post-flight, ensure the flight deck is prepared for the next crew, and secure the aircraft if required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Holds a CAAP CPL/IR or MPL.
  • Holds a valid CAAP Class 1 medical certificate.
  • Holds a College Degree or equivalent.
  • English Language Proficiency at Level 4 or above.
  • Minimum 200 hours of fixed-wing experience or equivalent credited hours.
  • Rotary wing time and crop dusting time are credited at 50%.
  • Experimental category aircraft time is not credited.
  • Second officer/Third crew (System Engineer) time is credited at 50%.

Skills and Competencies

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in modern cockpit operations, including EFIS/FMS systems; strong understanding of aviation regulations, flight planning, and operational documentation; skilled in flight management systems, navigation, and aircraft performance monitoring.
  • Soft Skills & Competencies: Friendly, mature, humble, honest, meticulous, self-starter, able to perform under pressure; high attention to detail; effective communication and teamwork skills; adaptable and proactive with strong situational awareness; commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence; able to maintain confidentiality and exercise tact and discretion.

Opportunities for advancement exist, with the potential to progress from First Officer to Captain, including roles in leadership and operations. Eligibility for upgrade to Captain is based on performance, experience, and leadership potential, which involves full command responsibility, leading flight crews, and mentoring junior pilots.
