Philippines AirAsia Inc. (PAA) seeks a dedicated First Officer to join its Flight Operations department in Manila. This full-time position is crucial for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of aircraft, upholding regulatory compliance, and contributing to overall operational excellence.
The First Officer is responsible for assisting the Commander in all aspects of flight operations. Key duties include:
- Participating actively in crew briefings, ensuring awareness of all relevant aeronautical, meteorological, and technical information, along with aircraft load specifics.
- Maintaining the validity of all personal licenses, medical certifications, passports, visas, and logbooks.
- Conducting cross-checks to verify the credentials of all operating technical crew members.
- Performing duties as Pilot Flying (PF) or Pilot Monitoring (PM) as directed by the Commander.
- Supporting flight deck management through effective task distribution, cooperation, and information sharing regarding flight progress, aircraft systems, airspace, and crew performance.
- Accurately completing and managing all necessary operational documents, including Operational Flight Plans and occurrence reports.
- Assisting the Commander in post-flight activities, such as finalizing aircraft documentation, ensuring the flight deck is prepared for the next crew, and securing the aircraft when necessary.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- A friendly, mature, honest, and meticulous demeanor, with the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
- Proficiency in oral and written English, with English Language Proficiency at Level 4 or above.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise tact and discretion in interpersonal interactions.
- Possession of a CAAP Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with Instrument Rating (IR) or a Multi-crew Pilot License (MPL).
- A valid CAAP Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- A College Degree or equivalent educational qualification.
- A minimum of 200 hours of fixed-wing experience, with specific crediting rules for rotary-wing, crop dusting, experimental aircraft, and second officer/third crew roles.
- Proficiency in modern cockpit operations, including EFIS (Electronic Flight Instrument System) and FMS (Flight Management System).
- A strong understanding of aviation regulations, flight planning procedures, and operational documentation.
- Skills in flight management systems, navigation, and aircraft performance monitoring.
- High attention to detail and the capacity to work within demanding operational environments.
- Effective communication and teamwork capabilities to foster seamless flight deck cooperation.
- Adaptability, proactivity, and strong situational awareness.
- A commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
