Cabin Crew Member Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
The Cabin Crew Member is responsible for a range of duties ensuring safe and pleasant flights, including:

Conduct and Readiness: Ensuring timely attendance, immaculate grooming, physical fitness, and legal readiness for assigned flights. Actively participating in briefings to acknowledge flight details, understand role distribution, targets, security checks, and boarding procedures.

Safety and Security: Instructing passengers effectively on required safety procedures to guarantee their well-being and comfort at all times. Proactively identifying potential safety and security risks and collaborating with the Cabin Supervisor to implement remedial actions in strict accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Administering first aid to passengers when necessary. Promptly informing the Cabin Supervisor, Flight Crew, and Captain of any irregularities or malfunctions observed during the flight.

Exceptional Customer Service: Warmly welcoming passengers and assisting them with boarding formalities. Accurately entering necessary data into the aircraft log book according to Air Arabia and GCAA/CAA adopted procedures. Providing continuous, excellent customer service by diligently attending to individual pre-bookings, requests, and needs. Identifying and assisting passengers who may be experiencing stress or difficulties, following the policies and procedures detailed in the Operations Manual and relevant instructions. Contributing to maximizing on-board revenue and supporting the “Charity Cloud” program through the efficient promotion of on-board meals, products, and charity services, thereby achieving individual and team targets. Ensuring the proper and secure handling of all cash and credit card payments received from sales and donations.

Operational Checks and Reporting: Carrying out thorough pre-flight checks to confirm sufficient supplies, emergency equipment, catering equipment, and other specified items are present before take-off. Reporting any deficiencies promptly to the Cabin Supervisor and/or Captain as appropriate. Assisting in ensuring the aircraft cabin is cleaned thoroughly at transit stations and that adequate re-catering and duty-free products are provided prior to departure. Ensuring an orderly and complete handover or takeover of the cabin to and from catering, cleaning, and maintenance staff. Conducting post-flight briefings and completing assessment reports according to adopted policies and procedures, including providing objective evaluations of the Cabin Supervisor, reporting any problems or discrepancies encountered on the flight, and managing the closing and sealing of duty-free containers. Accounting to the Cabin Supervisor for the conduct of passengers during the flight. Potentially carrying out the duties of 'Cabin Supervisor' when designated by the Captain. Maintaining required professional and safety knowledge and competitiveness by attending recurrent training sessions, emergency procedures training, educational workshops, and ensuring their license remains current. Contributing positively to team efforts by achieving related results and meeting allocated sales targets and objectives.
Important Requirements:
- Minimum Height: 160 cm (Female), 170 cm (Male).
- Weight: Must be in proportion to age and height.
- Clear skin with no marks or tattoos that are visible while wearing the cabin crew uniform.
- Medically and physically fit to perform the full range of Cabin Crew duties.
- Ability to swim with the aid of a flotation device.
Qualifications:
- A Diploma or Higher Secondary Certificate is the minimum academic requirement. A diploma in Travel or Tourism is considered an asset.
- Training in First Aid, Safety, and Emergency Procedures is advantageous.
- Must be fit to fly with good general health, free from serious medical conditions or chronic diseases.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
- Language: Fluency in both written and spoken English is mandatory.
Work Experience:
- Previous experience as a cabin crew member in the airline industry is essential.
- An active cabin crew license is an advantage.
- The candidate must be capable of working flexible shift patterns and extended hours.
- Demonstrates high flexibility and adaptability to frequent changes and demanding schedules.
- Proven ability to contribute effectively and successfully deliver against policies, procedures, and set Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
