Cabin Crew Member

Job Purpose:

This individual serves as a vital ambassador for Air Arabia, consistently striving to cultivate customer loyalty and project a positive corporate image. Their primary responsibility lies in delivering exceptional customer service to all passengers, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the entirety of the flight. This role requires the individual to be operationally ready, maintaining a high level of productivity in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Key Result Responsibilities:

Conduct:

The Cabin Crew Member is expected to maintain timely attendance, impeccable grooming, and ensure their fitness and legal preparedness for all assigned flights. This includes participating in pre-flight briefings to understand flight details, assigned roles, targets, and security protocols.

Safety Measures:

The individual will instruct passengers on all safety procedures, prioritizing their well-being throughout the flight. They must identify and report any safety or security risks, partnering with the Cabin Supervisor to implement corrective measures per standard operating procedures. Administering first aid to passengers when necessary is a key responsibility. Furthermore, they will promptly communicate any irregularities or malfunctions to the Cabin Supervisor, Flight Crew, and Captain as needed.

Customer Service:

The Cabin Crew Member welcomes and assists passengers with boarding formalities and inputs necessary data into the aircraft logbook. They will provide proactive customer service, attending to passengers' needs and requests. The individual will identify and assist passengers experiencing stress or difficulties, adhering to established policies and procedures. The Cabin Crew Member contributes to maximizing onboard revenue and charitable programs through the effective promotion of onboard meals, products, and charity services, striving to achieve both individual and team targets. They are responsible for the secure handling of cash and credit card payments.

Crosschecking and Reports:

Prior to takeoff, this individual conducts pre-flight checks, ensuring adequate supplies, emergency equipment, and catering provisions; reporting any deficiencies to the Cabin Supervisor or Captain. They will assist in maintaining a clean cabin at transit stations, ensuring that adequate re-catering and duty-free items are provided. The Cabin Crew Member must ensure an orderly handover/takeover of the cabin to relevant staff. Post-flight duties include completing debriefings, assessments, and reporting any discrepancies or issues from the flight, providing objective feedback on the Cabin Supervisor and ensuring proper closing of duty free containers. They will account to the Cabin Supervisor for passenger conduct, and may be required to fulfill the role of ‘Cabin Supervisor’ when designated by the Captain. Furthermore, they will maintain professional standards and stay current with necessary safety and operational knowledge through recurrent training, emergency procedure drills, and educational workshops. Finally, the individual will contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and achieving allocated sales targets and objectives.

Important Requirements:

  • Age: 20 to 30 years for candidates without prior cabin crew experience; up to 33 years for experienced cabin crew.
  • Minimum Height: 160 cm (Female), 170 cm (Male).
  • Weight: Proportional to age and height.
  • Appearance: Clear skin with no visible marks or tattoos when wearing the cabin crew uniform.
  • Health: Medically and physically fit to perform cabin crew duties.
  • Swimming Ability: Ability to swim with the aid of a flotation device.

Qualifications (Academic, Training, Languages):

  • A Diploma or Higher Secondary Certificate is required, with a diploma in Travel/Tourism being an advantage.
  • Training in First Aid, Safety, and Emergency Procedures is highly valued.
  • The candidate must be fit to fly, in good general health, and free from any serious medical conditions or chronic diseases.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential.
  • The candidate must be fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Fluency in Arabic is preferred.

Work Experience:

  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Prior experience as cabin crew or in a customer service role within the Airlines, Aviation, or Hospitality industries is considered a plus.
  • An active cabin crew license is advantageous.
  • The candidate must be capable of working in shift patterns and for extended working hours.
  • They must demonstrate high flexibility and adaptability to frequent changes and busy schedules.
  • The individual must demonstrate the ability to contribute and successfully deliver against established policies, procedures, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
