Captain A320 / Pilot in Command (PIC)
This critical leadership role seeks an accomplished and experienced Captain (Pilot in Command) for the Airbus A320 family, ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and efficiency across all flight operations.
Important Personnel Note
Priority consideration will be extended to Saudi Nationals holding a current A320 type rating and a valid General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) license. Non-Saudi nationals currently based within the GCC region who satisfy all stated experience and qualification requirements are also strongly encouraged to apply.
Role Summary and Job Purpose
The Captain, A320, is the designated Pilot in Command (PIC) and is fully entrusted with executing all assigned flight operations in strict adherence to the detailed provisions of the Company Operational Manuals and regulatory mandates established by GACA. The core purpose of this role is to ensure ultimate safety, security, and efficiency throughout all operated flights.
Key Accountabilities of the Pilot in Command
- Acting as the ultimate authority and responsible party for the aircraft during assigned flights, prioritizing Safety, Operational Efficiency, and Passenger Comfort, in that order.
- Conducting flights between destinations in accordance with approved flight plans and given schedules.
- Providing expert support, leadership, and guidance to the flight and cabin crew.
- Effectively managing and taking control during emergencies, technical issues, and ad-hoc scenarios to ensure successful performance and uphold a positive corporate image.
- Ensuring seamless compliance with all GACA regulations and internal operating procedures.
Essential Experience, Qualifications, and Requirements
Candidates applying for the Captain A320 position must rigorously meet the following mandatory experience and licensing criteria:
Licensing and Flight Time
- A minimum of 5000 hours total flying experience.
- A minimum of 2000 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) in a commercial jet aircraft.
- A minimum of 800 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) specifically on the Airbus A320 family, with current type rating.
- Possession of a current and valid GACA or ICAO Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL).
- A valid Class 1 Medical Certificate and a valid Instrument Rating (IR).
- Valid English Language Proficiency (ELP) certification, minimum level 4.
- Maximum age of 59 years at the time of application.
Mandatory Assessments
- Successful completion of technical and psychometric assessments.
- Successful completion of a Medical Fitness Check-up for Pilots as defined by Company and GACA standards.
Desirable Qualifications and Attributes (Advantageous)
Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate advanced training and operational experience in the following areas:
- Experience serving as a Trainer, Examiner, or Line Training Captain (TRE/TRI/LTC experience).
- Previous experience within a low-cost airline operational environment is highly desirable.
- Formal qualification or comprehensive training in safety and emergency response procedures.
- Training related to Crew Resource Management (CRM).
- Familiarity with IATA principles and standards relating to aviation security.
- Proficiency in aircraft systems, technical report writing, presentations, and standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, internet search).
- Basic training in airport security procedures and GACA regulations.
