Your role
As a Chief Instructor in the Inflight Services Department in our Manchester Base, the successful candidate will ‘take-ownership’ of the content and delivery of all U.K Mandatory Cabin Crew Training, including but not limited to Safety and Emergency Procedures. Our Inflight Services Department helps us to drive Aer Lingus’ ambition by supervising the delivery of annual recurrent SEP training and new entrant courses (OCC). You will be expected to successfully complete an Aer Lingus OCC course, attend training as a SEP instructor and to remain current on aircraft type.
Your responsibilities as a Chief Instructor will include:

To lead the preparation of Safety and Emergency Procedures Training modules for U.K. Pilots & Cabin Crew.

Lead in the design of safety training modules including but not limited to Safety, Security, Dangerous Goods, Conflict management, type specific and CRM.

Oversee the control of all training documentation and training folders to ensure compliance with regulations and Aer Lingus manuals.

To ensure compliance with safety and emergency procedures requirements as detailed in the Operations Manual Part D and Part A Cabin and as prescribed by European and U.K.CAA Regulations.

To coordinate and manage the training and continued qualification of contract instructors and to coordinate and manage the delivery of SEP training during the annual training period.

Support with the auditing of training delivered by contract instructors.

To ensure that SEP training records are up to date and maintained in accordance with requirements.

Day to day management of the Virtual Training Academy operating system in conjunction with the training administration team ensuring that trainees have a positive interaction and ensuring problems are resolved quickly and efficiently.

Support in the delivery of training modules in safety, manual handling, and H&S programmes in accordance with legislative and regulatory requirements in conjunction with the UK Safety Security and Compliance Manager (SSCM).

Support with the Delivery of training to new and existing line standard supervisors as well as conducting all new Line Standard Supervisor proficiency checks & annual standardisation meetings.

Ensure UK Part A Cabin is updated and managed.

Support with issuance of Regulatory notices and relevant SEP material.

Any other duties as allocated by the training management team.

Your qualifications and key criteria
We are looking for an individual with experience / qualifications in the following areas:
-
Minimum of 2 years Cabin Crew Member Experience including 12 Months experience operating as a Senior Cabin Crew Member.

Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
-
Good understanding of the relevant aspects of U.K. & EASA regulations.

Previous experience and proven track record in the preparation and delivery of training material and course content.

Previous and proven track record experience in a teaching or instructional role.

Competent in the use of Microsoft word, power point, excel and general office applications.
-
Competent in managing people with experience of supervising/leading a group or team.
-
Competent team-worker with good organisational and planning skills.
-
Proven ability to work independently and on their own initiative.
-
Willing to take on responsibility and to develop in the role.

Ability to provide support across Cabin Operations and Flight Operations.

Working Knowledge of the Pelesys Aviation Training Courseware.

Experience with Articulate 360 or other Training Courseware Design Software.

Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Eligible to live and work in the UK.

Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport.
