The Role

The successful Captain will demonstrate exceptional leadership and command while upholding the highest standards of operational safety and efficiency across all flights. Captains are expected to foster a positive, productive, and collaborative working environment, communicating openly, honestly, and respectfully with all team members, both in the cockpit and with ground personnel. The role demands strong problem-solving capabilities, the ability to take initiative under stressful circumstances, and a structured, analytical approach to decision-making to ensure seamless operations.

Minimum Requirements

Prospective candidates must meet the following essential criteria:

• License: Possesses a valid EASA ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot License).
• Medical: Holds a current Class 1 Medical Certificate.
• English Language Proficiency: A minimum ICAO English Language Proficiency (ELP) level 4 is required.
• Total Flight Time: A minimum of 5000 hours total flight time on Commercial Air Transport (CAT) aircraft with a Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW) above 40 tons.
• Pilot In Command (PIC) Experience: Must meet one of the following PIC experience criteria:
  • 2000 hours as PIC on aircraft with an MTOW above 40 tons, OR
  • 1000 hours as PIC on any AIRBUS Fly-By-Wire (FBW) aircraft.
• Type Rating: A specific type rating is not a prerequisite, as Aegean Airlines will provide comprehensive training to successful candidates.
