Position Summary:

ASL Airlines Ireland is actively seeking highly experienced ATR First Officers to undertake a long-term assignment supporting dedicated cargo operations. This role is fundamental to ensuring the safety and efficiency of each flight. The First Officer provides critical assistance to the Commander and is prepared to assume command responsibilities should the Commander become incapacitated.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Executes assigned flight duties in strict adherence to Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), incorporating all relevant procedures, limitations, and performance parameters specific to the ATR aircraft type.
  • Actively promotes a collaborative and understanding environment among all crew members.
  • Proactively advises the Commander on any aspects of flight preparation that may have been overlooked, based on professional judgement.
  • Verifies the safe navigation of the aircraft, conducting continuous and independent checks on geographical position and terrain clearance, and offers pertinent advice, information, and assistance to enhance flight safety and efficiency.
  • Seeks and obtains necessary information and clarifications from the Commander required to effectively discharge the First Officer's duties.
  • Upholds exemplary standards of personal discipline, conduct, and appearance as a representative of ASL Airlines Ireland.
  • Supports the Commander through active example in fostering and maintaining high standards of professional expertise and morale within the crew; ensures the validity of the operational flight plan and submits the Air Traffic Services Flight Plan to the relevant Authority when required, verifying the correct stored plan if utilised.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1,000 hours total flight time.
  • Minimum of 500 hours operating time on ATR 42/72 aircraft types.
  • Possession of a current and valid ATR Type Rating.
  • Demonstrated ICAO English Language Proficiency at Level 5 or higher.
  • Holding a current and valid Class One Medical Certificate.
  • Absence of any history of accidents or incidents.
  • Possession of a passport granting eligibility for unrestricted worldwide travel.
  • Legally eligible to live and work within the European Union (EU).
  • The designated operational base for this position will be Cologne Bonn Airport (CGN), Germany.
