Second In Command (SIC) - Fully Remote

Job Summary:

The Second In Command (SIC) reports administratively to the Chief Pilot and operationally to the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) during flight operations. The SIC assists the PIC in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft, adhering to all Federal Aviation Regulations and company procedures.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Conduct safe and efficient domestic flight operations under Part 135 regulations, while maintaining the highest levels of customer service.
  • Adhere strictly to all company procedures and manuals.
  • Maintain a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate and report any medical conditions that may impair flight duties.
  • Maintain a high degree of professionalism, exhibiting strong crew coordination and leadership skills.
  • Greet passengers, assist with seating, and manage luggage storage.
  • Conduct passenger briefings and attend to their requests and needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to loud noises, including aircraft machinery and jet engines.
  • Work occurs in typical outdoor and industrial/hangar environments.
  • Some exposure to extreme temperatures is expected due to travel requirements.
  • Work may occur in tight, possibly cramped spaces within a typical business aircraft interior.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to see and hear clearly.
  • Ability to read, understand, and speak English clearly.
  • Ability to climb, twist, bend, crouch, stoop, kneel, and crawl.
  • Ability to move in confined spaces.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to regularly push/pull up to 70 pounds.
  • Ability to regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds.

Dress Code and Uniform:

  • Maintain a well-groomed appearance.
  • Adhere to the company's dress code.

Travel Requirements:

  • 100% travel required while on rotation.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Thorough knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations applicable to Part 135 operations.
  • Extensive understanding of FAA, ICAO, and other international flight regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills and advanced multi-tasking capabilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal/written, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient computer skills for word processing, email, and web-based applications.
  • Passionate attention to detail and ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Ability to present a well-groomed appearance, adhering to company standards.
  • Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
  • FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • Minimum of 2,000 hours of total flight time (fixed-wing).
  • Minimum of 200 hours of multi-engine flight time.
  • Valid Passport.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CANPASS authorization for unrestricted travel to/from Canada.
  • Appropriate Type Rating with 36 months of currency.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position subject to pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing per FAA guidelines.
  • Authorization to work lawfully in the United States, with two forms of federal identification.
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check, including verification of employment, education, criminal history and other relevant information is required.
