Compensation Structure and Flexible Roster Options (Effective January 1, 2026)
airBaltic provides a robust and structured compensation system designed for long-term retention and stability. The structure features ten defined salary levels, with guaranteed progression after the completion of each year of service. New employees have the opportunity to commence employment at a salary level commensurate with their proven operational experience.
To support an optimal work-life balance, airBaltic offers a choice of flexible roster patterns:
- Commuting Roster: A consistent 13 days on duty followed by 10 days off duty.
- Flexible Roster: A minimum of 10 days off per calendar month with intentionally limited layovers. Captains on this option possess the ability to bid for preferred days off and specific flights.
- Fixed Roster: A predictable 5 days on duty followed by 3 days off duty pattern.
All fixed and flexible rosters are published 14 days in advance.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Candidates seeking this prestigious Captain role must meet the following stringent professional requirements, demonstrating extensive command experience on large commercial aircraft:
- Possession of a valid EU ATPL license.
- Possession of a valid EASA Medical Certificate Class 1.
- Minimum ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4 or higher.
- A total flight time exceeding 4,000 hours.
- A minimum of 2,000 hours flown on multi-pilot/engine turbine airplanes (CS-25 certified).
- A minimum of 1,000 hours of Command experience specifically on a CS-25 certified aircraft.
- A clean criminal record check is mandatory.
