Xcel Energy, a leading Fortune 500 energy provider, seeks a qualified Pilot-in-Command (PIC) to join their team in Centennial, Colorado. This role is responsible for the safe and compliant operation of company aircraft, ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers while adhering to all federal, state, and departmental regulations.
About the Role
The Pilot-in-Command (PIC) is entrusted with the ultimate authority and responsibility for the safe conduct of all assigned flights. This position operates under the guidance of the chief pilot and is accountable for ensuring strict adherence to all applicable aviation regulations, policies, and procedures. The PIC plays a crucial role in flight preparation, aircraft airworthiness, and the overall safety and efficiency of flight operations.
Responsibilities

Serve as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) or Second-in-Command (SIC), as assigned.

Ensure aircraft airworthiness, completion of preflight inspections, and presence of required documentation.

Address and record any aircraft discrepancies prior to flight.

Prepare and file flight plans.

Calculate aircraft weight and balance, fuel, and performance parameters.

Review weather conditions for departure, enroute, destination, and alternate airports.

Utilize aircraft checklists and Minimum Equipment Lists (MEL).

Supervise air and ground crews during trip preparation.

Ensure the safety and comfort of passengers, meeting their needs within operational guidelines.

Conduct safety briefings for passengers, including emergency equipment and evacuation procedures.

Complete postflight inspections, accurately record flight times, and document discrepancies for maintenance.

Ensure thorough completion of all required aircraft forms, logs, reports, expense accounts, payroll time, and company/departmental training.

Maintain required aviation knowledge and proficiency through training and self-study.
Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.

Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with a multiengine land rating.

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.

Aircraft-specific training as required.

Company aircraft type rating or the ability to obtain one.

Proficiency in English.

Valid automobile driver's license.

Valid passport.

Valid and current FAA Class 1 or Class 2 medical certificate.

Minimum of 2000 hours total fixed-wing flight time.

Minimum of 500 hours turbojet flight time.

Minimum of 1000 hours logged as Pilot-in-Command (PIC).

Three years of professional pilot experience.

Knowledge of General Operations Manual (GOM) procedures, Safety Management System (SMS), Aircraft Flight Manual (AFM), Quick Reference Handbook (QRH), and Emergency Response Plan (ERP) manuals.
