Position Summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a professional Pilot-in-Command (PIC) to ensure the safe and efficient conduct of flight operations. The successful candidate will operate under the direction of the Chief Pilot, maintaining final authority over aircraft operations while ensuring strict compliance with all federal, state, local, and foreign regulations, as well as departmental policies and procedures.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Serve as PIC or Second-in-Command (SIC), providing operational support to the Captain.
  • Ensure aircraft airworthiness through thorough preflight inspections, documentation verification, and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Prepare and file flight plans, calculate weight and balance, and analyze performance charts.
  • Review meteorological conditions for departure, enroute, and destination/alternate airports.
  • Utilize aircraft checklists and Minimum Equipment Lists (MEL) to maintain safety standards.
  • Supervise air and ground crews during trip preparation and execution.
  • Ensure passenger safety, comfort, and provide detailed safety briefings regarding emergency equipment and evacuation procedures.
  • Complete postflight inspections, record accurate flight times, and report maintenance discrepancies.
  • Maintain precise records, logs, reports, and administrative documentation.
  • Engage in continuous professional development through assigned training and self-study.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional pilot experience.
  • ATP (Airline Transport Pilot) certificate with multiengine land rating.
  • FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
  • Type rating in company aircraft or the ability to attend factory training and pass a check-ride to meet FAR 61.58 PPE requirements.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Valid automobile driver's license and valid passport.
  • Current FAA Class 1 or Class 2 medical certificate.
  • Minimum of 2,000 hours total fixed-wing time, 500 hours turbojet, and 1,000 hours as PIC.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of GOM, SMS, AFM, QRH, and ERP standards.
  • Strong work ethic, customer service orientation, attention to detail, adaptability, and sound judgment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or higher.
  • Prior corporate aviation experience.
  • Minimum of 3,000 hours total fixed-wing time, 1,000 hours turbojet, and 1,000 hours as PIC.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated starting base pay for this position ranges from $129,000.00 to $183,200.00 per year. This role is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including an Annual Incentive Program, medical/dental/vision plans, retirement savings (Pension and 401(k)), life and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, and parental leave.
