Position: Blackhawk Pilot (01024198)

Weyerhaeuser is seeking a professional Blackhawk Pilot based in McMinnville, Oregon, to provide helicopter services for Weyerhaeuser Timberlands across Oregon and Washington. This role offers a balanced schedule designed to prioritize safety, operational demand, and work-life balance.

Duties and Responsibilities

Serve as Pilot in Command (PIC) or Co-pilot of S-70 (UH-60L) Black Hawk helicopters for day and night firefighting operations and other company-required missions.
Conduct specialized aerial operations, including fire suppression, dispensing, external load, and reconnaissance.
Maintain readiness for dispatch to emergency and non-emergency operations at short notice.
Willingness to operate other aircraft types as qualified and required.
Participate in regular self-study of aircraft systems and emergency procedures; attend mandatory training and check-flights (FAA/USFS/Weyerhaeuser).
Maintain accurate written and computerized flight logs and operational records.
Ensure all operations adhere to FAA regulations, company manuals, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Execute additional duties as assigned by the Aviation Operations Manager or Chief Pilot.
Relocate to the Northwest Oregon area with the ability to report to the McMinnville base within approximately 60 minutes.

Required Qualifications

Commercial Rotorcraft Pilot Certificate with Instrument (Helicopter) rating.
Minimum 3,000 total rotary-wing flight hours.
Minimum 1,000 hours of Part 133 sling load / external load operations.
Minimum of 3 years or 500 hours in aerial work operations, including firefighting.
Class II FAA Medical Certificate.
Crew Resource Management (CRM) training.
Ability to obtain USDA Firefighting Carding for the S-70.
Ability to relocate to Northwest Oregon and report to the McMinnville base within ~60 minutes.

Desirable Qualifications

UH60/S70 Blackhawk Type rating or current CFR 61.58.
100+ hours in UH60/S70 Blackhawk aircraft.
Aerial firefighting experience in Type II (Bell 212) aircraft.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation: The targeted salary range is $108,521 – $162,782, commensurate with skills and experience. The position is eligible for an Annual Incentive Program with a 15% base pay target bonus, subject to plan funding.
