Role Overview

As a Pilot with Westair Aviation, the successful candidate will be entrusted with the critical responsibility of safely operating company aircraft, ensuring the utmost comfort and safety of all passengers and crew members in adherence to the highest industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operates aircraft in strict compliance with all relevant aviation regulations and safety standards.
  • Conducts comprehensive pre-flight inspections, meticulously reviewing flight plans and current weather conditions.
  • Maintains effective communication with air traffic control and expertly navigates during flights.
  • Performs take-offs and landings with precision, diligently managing aircraft systems and controls.
  • Responds effectively to emergency situations, taking all necessary actions to ensure the highest level of safety.
  • Collaborates seamlessly with co-pilots, cabin crew, and ground personnel to ensure smooth and efficient flight operations.
  • Maintains accurate records of all flight activities and adheres to all reporting requirements.
  • Actively participates in ongoing training and professional development programs to uphold proficiency and advance skills.

Captain: ERJ 135/145

Minimum Requirements

  • Valid Air Transport Pilot License (ATPL).
  • ERJ 145/135 Type Rating is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 3000 hours Total Flight Time.
  • Minimum of 500 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) on the ERJ type.
  • Minimum of 2500 hours Total PIC on Multi-Engine Turbine / Jet Aircraft.
  • Willingness to travel for extensive periods (6-12 weeks) across Africa.
  • Preference will be given to Namibian Citizens.

First Officer: ERJ 135/145

Minimum Requirements

  • Valid South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) or Namibian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) Commercial Pilot License (CPL) or Air Transport Pilot License (ATPL).
  • ERJ 145/135 Type Rating is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 2000 hours Total Flight Time.
  • Minimum of 100 hours on ERJ type.
  • Minimum of 1000 hours on Multi-Engine Turbine aircraft.
  • Willingness to travel for extensive periods (6-12 weeks) across Africa.
  • Preference will be given to Namibian Citizens.
