The Job

Lead Pilot, West Coast Operations

The Daily

  • Assists the Chief Pilot with the management of the Corporate Flight Department including recommendations to flight operations, aircraft maintenance, finances, purchasing, hiring, and hangar administration for the Burbank operations
  • Ensures safe and efficient flight operations
  • Responsible for the professional standards of the crew members
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable FAA and State Regulations as well as federal
  • Ensures compliance with all national and local environmental laws and requirements
  • Assist with employee recruitment, pre-employment interviews, and selecting new participates in the Safety Management System
  • Perform duties as PIC or SIC

The Essentials

  • Holds a valid Airline Transport Pilot Certificate
  • Holds a type rating for at least 1 of the types of aircraft operated, if applicable
  • Possesses a First Class FAA Medical Certificate
  • Holds or has held an appropriate certificate, or has acquired supervisory experience
  • Possesses knowledge with respect to the operation of the Flight Department, the content of the Flight Operations Manual, the provision of Title 14 of the CFRs, and the standards necessary to carry out the duties and responsibilities to ensure safety
  • Possesses a Bachelor Degree or equivalent course of study in an accredited aviation management program
  • Holds a valid Airline Transport Pilot License with type ratings for the aircraft operated
  • Is qualified in accordance with the Training Program to act as a pilot-in-command on at least one of the types to be operated
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the content of the FOM, Training Manuals, Standard Operating Procedures and the provisions of the FAA civil aviation regulations and standards necessary to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position
