Challenger 300 Pilot in Command (PIC)

Waltzing Matilda Aviation (WMA), a reputable FAA-licensed Part 135 private jet charter operator, seeks a highly skilled and experienced Pilot in Command (PIC) to join its team in Long Beach, California. This is a full-time position reporting directly to the Chief Pilot.

Position Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe operation of a Challenger 300 aircraft, operating under FAR Part 135 regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, a meticulous approach to flight operations, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Challenger 300 aircraft in accordance with all applicable regulations and company procedures.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service, providing a positive and enjoyable experience for passengers.
• Effectively communicate with passengers, dispatchers, and other aviation personnel.
• Comply with all safety and security protocols, including pre-flight inspections, flight planning, and post-flight reports.
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.

Qualifications:

Essential:

• At least 23 years of age.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• FAA Airline Transport Pilot Multi-Engine Land Rating (ATP).
• Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
• FCC Radiotelephone Operator's Permit.
• Successful completion of a 10-year background check and FAA Drug and Alcohol Program testing.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States and travel in/out of the United States without restriction.
• Proven experience in Part 135 operations.
• Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Minimum of 2,500 hours of total documented flight time.
• Minimum 500 hours of turbine time.
• Minimum 100 hours of turbine PIC time.
• Current instrument proficiency check, line check, and route check.

Preferred:

• Type rating in Challenger 300.

Flight Time Evaluation:

When assessing candidates meeting the minimum qualifications, WMA will carefully consider factors such as the quality, quantity, recency, and verifiability of training; the complexity of aircraft flown; types of flight operations; and hours flown as PIC in turbine-powered aircraft.

Compensation:

Compensation is competitive with similar operators and equipment types and will be determined based on the applicant's experience.
