First Officer (DASH 8 Q400)
Voyageur Aviation Corp., an integrated provider of specialized aviation services and a wholly owned subsidiary of Chorus Aviation Inc., seeks a highly motivated First Officer to join its Flight Operations team. Reporting to the Director, Flight Operations, the First Officer will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the company’s DH8 fleet, primarily supporting overseas bases throughout Africa and the Middle East. This is a rotational position consisting of 8 weeks in the field followed by 8 weeks off.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate company aircraft as the Second-in-Command, providing support to the Pilot-in-Command.
- Maintain operational control parameters throughout all flights.
- Ensure on-time performance and achieve all flight objectives.
- Prioritize the safety and security of passengers, crew, aircraft, and cargo.
- Liaise effectively with the Pilot-in-Command, Voyageur’s Dispatch department, ATC, FSS, and customers.
- Ensure all necessary maps, charts, and navigation equipment are readily available on the aircraft.
- Actively participate in safety briefings and utilize Voyageur’s Safety and Risk Management system.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, air regulations, and standard operating procedures.
- Complete all required operational paperwork accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain all qualifications necessary to operate Dash 8 aircraft.
Qualifications:
- Possess a valid Commercial Pilot License (CPL) or Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL).
- Minimum of 1500 hours total flight time.
- Minimum of 500 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.
- Minimum of 250 hours on a Dash 8 aircraft.
- Meet all Transport Canada requirements for operating a Dash 8 aircraft.
- Current DH8 type-rating.
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to develop effective solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts.
