Job Overview

The holder of this position will be responsible for managing end to end compliance for the Dangerous Goods department & deliver trainings as per compliances of the regulating organizations to the highest standards. The incumbent will be also responsible for liaising with DGCA & other Civil Aviation Authority.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop high standards of Dangerous Goods training material which corresponds with the Dangerous Goods Training Manual, Dangerous Goods Manual and DGCA requirements and ensure the same is current and up to date in real time basis
  • Ensure effective and efficient delivery of Dangerous Goods trainings as per the set agenda and standards on obtaining the DGCA approvals
  • Managing, monitoring and upgrading the department/ training manuals
  • Development and maintenance of documents ensuring compliance for the Dangerous Goods department
  • Ensure an auditing and recording system is maintained for all regulatory requirements and all operations conform to DGCA requirements
  • Be responsible for the safe carriage and handling of dangerous goods and performance of all employees engaged in the handling chain of Dangerous Goods
  • Ensure documentation and all training records are regularly updated
  • Assess, monitor, coach and provide trainees with individual feedback
  • Review of training feedback received and implement changes to delivery/ material
  • Ensure the department is compliant with various International/ National organizations like ICAO, DGCA, IATA or as applicable
  • Maintain current knowledge of rules, regulations, policies, procedures for the safe operations of aircraft and ensure that they conform to regulatory requirements
  • Ensure smooth functioning of the Safety, Security and Quality System within the area of responsibility
  • Assist the DGM – AvSec and DGR
  • Liaison with DGCA or other Civil Aviation Authority, when required

Work Experience

  • Overall of ten years’ experience in the cargo operations including acceptance and handling of Dangerous Goods, preferred in handling the cargo operations of the cargo aircraft only as well as passenger and cargo aircrafts of Indian/ International carrier
  • Minimum of five years’ experience as an instructor

Qualification

  • DGCA approved Dangerous Goods Instructor
  • Successful completion of “Professional Skills for Dangerous Goods Instructor” course
  • Successful completion of the Dangerous Goods training in Category 6 and same should be valid for at least twelve months from the date of interview
  • Graduate from a recognized university
