Senior Captain

Location: San Antonio, TX

Job Summary

Valero is seeking an experienced Senior Captain to join the aviation team. In this role, the Senior Captain performs all duties of a Trip Captain at an advanced level, acting as a leader for both domestic and international flight operations. The successful candidate will model the company’s core values, contribute significantly to aviation functions, and serve as a mentor within the pilot group.

Key Responsibilities

Mentor the pilot group regarding professionalism, high morale, flight operations manual standards, and advanced pilot knowledge.
Model high levels of work commitment, complete tasks efficiently, and consistently expand the scope of responsibility.
Identify and address task gaps while demonstrating strong ambition for internal customer service.
Manage administrative tasks and flying duties effectively and safely.
Support the success of team members and the Safety Management System.
Seek out opportunities to enhance the safety and efficiency of the aviation business unit.
Stay current with industry developments and participate in external programs to improve business aviation.
Represent and demonstrate the department’s principles and values.

Minimum Requirements

High School diploma or GED.
7 years of experience as an aircraft pilot.
3000 total flight hours.
Valid ATP (Airline Transport Pilot) Certificate.
1st Class Medical Certificate.
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Driver's License.
Must be eligible to obtain a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
Ability to work on-site in San Antonio, TX.
Flexibility to operate within a dynamic Part 91 FAA environment, including non-standard duty periods (early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays) and off-site on-call availability.

Preferred Requirements

Bachelor’s degree.
