Senior Captain

Position Overview

Valero is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Captain to join our aviation team. As a leader in the energy industry, we prioritize innovation and operational excellence. The Senior Captain performs all duties of a Trip Captain at an advanced level, serving as a leader for both domestic and international flight operations. This role is essential to maintaining the high standards, safety, and efficiency of our aviation department.

Key Responsibilities

Mentor the pilot group in professionalism, high morale, flight operations manual standards, and advanced pilot knowledge.
Model work commitment and consistently expand the scope of responsibilities.
Manage administrative tasks and flight operations safely and effectively.
Contribute to the success of team members and support the Safety Management System.
Identify opportunities to enhance the safety and efficiency of the aviation business unit.
Stay informed on industry developments and participate in external programs to improve business aviation.
Uphold and represent departmental principles and core values.

Minimum Requirements

High School diploma or GED.
7 years of experience as an aircraft pilot.
3,000 total flight hours.
Valid Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
1st Class Medical Certificate.
Eligibility to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
Valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one within the specified timeframe.
Availability to work on-site in San Antonio, TX.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including non-standard duty periods (early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays).
Ability to perform designated administrative responsibilities and maintain off-site, on-call availability.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.
