Captain: Become the Newest Member of the VF Family

The Captain functions as the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) of VF Corporation aircraft on both Domestic and International missions.  The Captain has direct responsibility for the safe operation of all aircraft assigned to them.  The Captain is responsible for compliance with applicable company policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as well as local, state, federal and international regulations.  They have responsibility for the safety and comfort of all passengers and crewmembers, as well as the safe and timely operation of the flight.

How You Will Make a Difference:

Ensures that the assigned aircraft is operated in compliance with applicable FAA FARs, the VF Aviation FOM and all local, state federal and international aviation regulations; Ensures that all applicable requirements of the IS-BAO standard are met for their flight; Is responsible to the Chief Pilot for the safe, comfortable and efficient conduct of assigned flights; Ensures that the assigned aircraft is airworthy and all required aircraft documents are current and on board the aircraft prior to departure; Ensures that the appropriate Risk Assessment Tool is completed in accordance with the VF Aviation FOM, risk mitigation applied in accordance with the FOM and that all flight crew members have been adequately briefed; Ensures compliance with local customs, immigration and cabotage laws; Champions the continued development and deployment of the VF Aviation Safety Management System (SMS); Constantly seeks opportunities to improve processes to enhance the effectiveness of VF Aviation’s support of VF Corporation.

Years of Related Professional Experience: 8 years

Educational/ Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; or equivalent FAR Part 91 flight operations experience required.
  • Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate and type rating (PIC) on each Company aircraft assigned;
  • Good physical health and the ability to maintain an FAA First Class Medical Certificate required;
  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate preferred.
  • Minimum five years of Domestic and International experience as PIC in either a corporate or commercial aviation setting;
  • Extensive flight experience, including four thousand (4,000) hours total flight time and a minimum of two thousand (2,000) hours multi-engine turbo jet;
  • Broad knowledge of all functions related to aircraft operations;
  • Knowledge of advanced aircraft systems and avionics;
  • Thorough familiarity with FAA FAR Part 91 and ICAO Annexes (filed Differences);
  • Knowledge, understanding and appreciation for Safety Management System processes, including Risk Analysis and Mitigation, Human Factors and Accident/Incident Prevention;
  • Knowledge of aircraft Scheduling, including mobile technology applications;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements:

  • Travel by air and overnight, as required 50% amount of time.
  • Lifting and/or bending, lifting 10 lbs of weight.

Pay Range :

$155,520.00 USD - $233,280.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential :

This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
