UH-60M Instructor Pilot

An experienced UH-60M Instructor Pilot is required to provide advanced instruction, encompassing initial ATP integration, continuation training, the Initial Aircraft Qualification Course (AQC), and Aircraft Qualification Training (AQT). This individual will evaluate both employee and customer crewmembers in accordance with the US Army Aircrew Training Manual (ATM) and the MNG Modernization Training Plan. The role involves delivering comprehensive academic and hands-on performance training, conducting evaluations to ascertain aircrew proficiency, and meticulously maintaining the Individual Aircrew Training Folder (IATF) with all necessary training, currency, and readiness records. Instruction will be delivered in classroom environments, as well as in both the aircraft and flight training devices. The successful candidate will provide contact, basic instrument, night vision goggle, and basic combat skills training in adherence to US Army standards outlined in the government-approved ATM. Training methods will encompass individual and group sessions, utilizing classrooms, aircraft, and simulators.

Responsibilities:

  • Train and evaluate aviation pilots on the UH-60M aircraft, adhering to the US Army ATM and specific unit ATP guidelines.
  • Support the development and implementation of an Aviation Aircrew Training Program that aligns with customer specifications.
  • Ensure that all required flight training publications are current and complete.
  • Conduct and assess individual readiness level progression tasks, including instrument flight tasks during day, night, night vision system (NVS), night vision goggle (NVG), and instrument flight rules (IFR) conditions.
  • Prepare crewmembers through realistic mission training flight maneuvers, simulating local environmental conditions such as dust landings and weather-specific desert training.
  • Provide aircrew proficiency training in Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC), both within and outside controlled airspace, in compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or international Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) flight rules.
  • Attend meetings as required by customers.
  • Recommend aviation instructor pilot and Pilot in Command appointments to customer leadership.
  • Attend and contribute training and mission planning input to weekly scheduling meetings, based on ATP requirements.
  • Act as an ATP mentor within the company standardization and battalion standardization team, as requested by the customer, which may include Master Gunner training and mentorship.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship for field exercises at tenant locations.
  • Perform IP duties at offsite locations, as customer needs dictate.
  • Operate within broad guidelines of duties and responsibilities, with significant autonomy in method selection.
  • Possess the authority to select and implement goals and objectives within the execution of assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • May be assigned as project lead to support program goals, including the technical writing of aviation documents, within the guidance of the Performance Work Statement (PWS).
  • Perform additional duties as directed by management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in a related field is advantageous.
  • Must have held the qualification of Pilot in Command.
  • Completion of the UH-60M Instructor Pilot Course (IPC) or Methods of Instruction (MOI) course at an authorized U.S. Army Aviation Proponent School, or an IP equivalency evaluation administered by a standardization instructor pilot (SP) selected by the Directorate of Evaluations and Standardization (DES) is required.
  • Must be qualified on the UH-60M Series Aircraft.
  • Minimum of 1500 total flight hours, including a minimum of 500 flight hours as an Instructor Pilot.
  • Possession of an FAA Commercial Pilot certificate is mandatory.
  • FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) certification is recommended.
  • Successful completion of an FAA Class II Flight Physical upon hire, and annually thereafter is required.
