Pilot in Command - Captain

Unum is seeking an experienced Pilot in Command (Captain) for a full-time position based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA. The Captain will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft, ensuring compliance with all regulations and providing an exceptional experience for passengers.

About the Role

The Captain serves as the Pilot in Command, holding ultimate responsibility for the safety of passengers and crew, and the comfortable, timely operation of the aircraft. This role involves supervising the flight crew, ensuring all flight and ground operations adhere to FAA Regulations and the Unum Aviation Department Flight Operations manual. Key duties include determining optimal flight routes, speeds, takeoff, and landing times to meet scheduling requirements, and making critical decisions regarding delays, rerouting, or cancellations in coordination with the operations team. The Captain is also responsible for the safe transportation of corporate personnel, customers, and guests, completing all required FAA records, participating in the Safety Management System, and fulfilling IS-BAO compliance requirements. The role also includes attending semiannual flight training and may involve other assigned duties when not flying.

Requirements

  • Unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with Multi-Engine Rating.
  • Multi-Engine turbine experience.
  • Valid and current passport.
  • Valid and current radiotelephony license.

Qualifications

  • EMB-550 Type rating is preferred but not required.
  • Possession and maintenance of a First-Class FAA Medical Certificate.
