Job Overview: Advanced Practice Provider (Open Rank)
The Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking applications for full-time Advanced Practice Providers (PA/NP/APRN). This role involves providing comprehensive daytime and nighttime coverage within the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) and Medical Surgical Progressive Care Unit, supporting a nationally recognized center for pulmonary and critical care medicine.
Key Responsibilities

Inpatient evaluation and management of acute and critically ill patients with complex medical and pulmonary conditions.

Staffing of the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) and Medical Surgical Progressive Care Unit.

Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and clinical evaluations.

Collaborating with consulting services to optimize patient management.

Performing invasive procedures as permitted by professional credentials.

Providing cross-coverage for division service lines, including Pulmonary Hypertension, Pulmonary Embolism Response Team, pulmonary/critical care consults, and the Rapid Response Team.

Contributing to the division's educational mission and fulfilling duties as assigned by clinical leadership.
Qualifications
Candidates must meet minimum requirements at the time of hire. This is an open-rank position (Instructor through Associate Professor).
General Requirements:

Master’s Degree required.

Nurse Practitioners: Must be board certified or board-eligible for certification in acute care.

Physician Assistants: Must possess acute and/or critical care experience.

Eligibility for or possession of a Colorado professional license.

Certification to provide care for both adolescent and adult populations.

Instructor:
Meets general requirements.

Senior Instructor:
Requires current or past faculty appointment as a Senior Instructor at an academic medical institution.

Assistant Professor:
Requires a Doctor of Nursing or Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) degree (or equivalent) and prior appointment as an Assistant Professor.

Associate Professor:
Requires a Doctor of Nursing or Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) degree (or equivalent) and prior appointment as an Associate Professor.
Preferred Qualifications:

General Internal Medicine knowledge base.

Background in Pulmonary Medicine, Intensive Care, or related subspecialties.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and physical examination skills.
Compensation and Benefits
Hiring Range:
$112,000 – $150,000 annually, plus shift differentials for nights, weekends, and holidays.
