The Senior Pilot Preferential Bidding Systems Planner will be responsible for the creation of monthly pilot schedule awards. Along with the creation of the monthly pilot schedule awards, the Senior PBS Planner will work across other departments to ensure the schedules made are the most accurate possible. The Senior PBS Planner will also be responsible for testing different outcomes for each bid period to see which outcome plans for the most operational success. We are looking for a planner that will bring a strong passion to the role, with a desire to continuously improve system and personal knowledge. We are also looking for a planner that will strive to do the right thing, even if doing the right thing is not the easiest option.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Pre-test monthly schedule production scenarios to find the best possible outcome for the month
+ Coordinate monthly pilot schedule production by following the monthly schedule process to include:
+ Adjusting pilot assignments and reserve coverage
+ Interacting closely with Pilot Workforce Planning
+ Pilot Training and Execution and Pairing Production teams as well as our ALPA representatives to ensure accuracy
+ Using data and analytics to identify business process improvements and automation opportunities as well as participating in crew optimization studies
+ Help drive thought leadership among the PBS Planners to make decisions and influence the PBS process going forward
+ Follow the post award PBS process, which includes dispute resolution and schedule repair

Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ Minimum 3 years of experience in a related field
+ A leader mentality that thinks strategically, connects dots, and has foresight to anticipate
+ Natural inclination to ask “why” and challenge the status quo
+ Intellectual curiosity and self-motivation to heed signals in data and want to understand root causes
+ Comfortability doing the right thing and taking a tough stance especially when it might be unpopular
+ Experience engaging with senior leaders, leveraging emotional intelligence skills to employ and balance strong executive presence with humility
+ Proven track-record of optimally influencing decisions in a cross-functional settings
+ Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with immediate team members, pilots, and Labor Representatives
+ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
+ Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
+ Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
+ Master’s degree or equivalent experience
+ Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Aviation/Aeronautics, Statistics, Operations Research
+ 5 years of experience working in aviation
+ Above average analytics technical skills, whether in Excel or coding in other advanced analytics tools (e.g. python)
+ Experience with airline planning and scheduling software (Jeppesen, Sabre, Navblue, or other)
+ Experience with optimization software
+ Knowledge related to CFR FAR 117
