Qualifications

Minimum 21 years of age at application.

High school graduate or GED required; 2+ years of college preferred.

At least one year of customer service experience in a service industry (e.g., retail, hospitality, food, aviation, social service).

Fluent in English (speak, read, write, understand) and French (speak, read).

Possess a valid passport book with 12 months validity and two blank pages, prior to application.

Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Requirements

Physical & Medical:
Must be able to hear all sound ranges, communicate effectively in high-stress situations, and perform demanding physical tasks including lifting luggage and pushing beverage carts. Pass a functional reach assessment (combined 76-inch vertical / 43.5-inch horizontal simultaneous reach, without shoes) and sit securely in a jump seat. Meet FAA and United Airlines hearing/vision requirements. Completion of an in-water evacuation drill during training is mandatory. Pass all pre-employment DOT drug screens, comprehensive background checks, and vision/hearing tests. Medical/recreational marijuana use is prohibited.

Appearance & Operational:
Maintain professional appearance and grooming standards. Tattoos prohibited on head, hands, fingers, or neck (cannot be covered); visible tattoos on arms, wrists, legs, feet must not exceed credit card size or be covered by uniform; must not be offensive. No decorative dental adornments. Proficiently operate electronic devices. Serve food/beverages (including alcohol) professionally. Must be available for a flexible, 24/7 schedule.

Background & Travel Clearance:
Pass a 10-year background check, ensuring no history prohibiting global travel (e.g., DWI/DUI without specific permits). Ability to travel globally to all United destinations without restrictions as a working crew member.

Compensation:
Industry-leading pay starting at $38.21/hour, with annual and seniority increases (potentially reaching $100.13/hour by 2030). Additional compensation for language skills, lead roles, and international trips. This is a bonus-eligible position (profit sharing).

During 6.5-week Houston training, receive a $140/week stipend, hotel accommodations, and two meals daily. A $1,000 bonus is awarded upon successful graduation.
