Flight Attendant

Position Overview
Successful candidates will undergo 6.5 weeks of initial training in Houston, TX, covering United’s comprehensive safety and service standards. Upon graduation, employees are assigned to a hub location. This is a full-time, safety-sensitive position requiring a commitment to our 24/7 global operations, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation and Benefits

Starting hourly flight pay: $37.10/hour, with scale progression to $100.13/hour by 2030.

Additional compensation for language skills, lead positions, and international assignments.

Training support: $140/week stipend, provided accommodations, and select meals.

$1,000 bonus upon successful completion of training.

Prioritize cabin safety and security at all times.

Deliver exceptional customer service with professionalism, optimism, and compassion.

Handle high-stress scenarios, including medical emergencies, security threats, and evacuations.

Operate electronic devices for required job tasks.

Maintain compliance with all uniform, grooming, and appearance standards.

Serve and sell food and beverages.
Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum age: 21 years old at time of application.

Education: High school diploma or GED; 2+ years of college preferred.

Experience: Minimum one year of customer service experience in any service-related industry.

Language: Fluency in English (speak, read, write, understand). Proficiency in a second language is highly desirable (e.g., Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Tagalog).

Documentation: Must possess a valid, non-expired passport with 12+ months of validity remaining and two consecutive blank pages. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Physical: Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stretch, reach, and lift heavy objects. Must be able to pass a functional reach assessment (76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal).

Medical/Compliance: Ability to pass a 10-year criminal background check, DOT/FAA drug screens, and hearing/vision standards. Ability to complete water evacuation drills.

Travel: Ability to travel globally to all countries United serves without restriction.
