Flight Attendant - Professional Opportunity

United is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team of over 30,000 flight attendants. As the world's largest airline with an expansive global network, we are looking for professionals committed to safety, service, and excellence. Role Overview

Successful candidates will undergo 6.5 weeks of comprehensive Initial Training in Houston, TX, covering safety and service standards. Upon graduation and base orientation, employees will begin their full-time careers at one of our hubs: Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Newark, San Francisco, or Washington Dulles. Relocation funds are not provided.

Core Responsibilities

  • Safety First: Maintain the highest levels of safety protocols at all times.
  • Customer Experience: Deliver exceptional service with a "people-first" demeanor, resolving issues with compassion and professional judgment.
  • Operational Flexibility: Maintain availability for 24/7 global assignments, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must be prepared for reserve assignments and extended time away from base.
  • Team Collaboration: Demonstrate a consistent track record of working effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
  • High school diploma or GED required; 2 or more years of college preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of customer service experience (e.g., retail, hospitality, education, aviation).
  • Fluency in English (speak, read, write, understand).
  • Required: Fluency in German (speak and read).
  • Possess a valid passport with at least 12 months of validity and two consecutive blank pages at the time of application.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States and able to travel globally without restrictions.
  • Must pass a 10-year criminal background check, DOT drug screens (including pre-employment and random), and vision/hearing exams.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting luggage, pushing 250 lb. carts, and passing a functional reach assessment (76" vertical and 43.5" horizontal).
  • Professional grooming standards, including compliance with tattoo and piercing policies.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Pay: Starting hourly pay of $28.88/hour, increasing to $67.11/hour. Additional compensation available for language skills, lead positions, and international trips.
  • Training Stipend: $140/week during training, plus accommodations and partial meal coverage. Graduates receive a $1,000 bonus.

  • Travel Privileges: Flight benefits for employees, family, and friends on a stand-by basis.
