Position Overview: Flight Attendant
United Airlines is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team of over 30,000 flight attendants. Qualifications and Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of application.

High school diploma or GED required; two or more years of college preferred.

Minimum of one year of experience in the service industry (e.g., retail, hospitality, education, or aviation).

Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding).

Fluent in Dutch (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding).

Must possess a valid passport book with at least 12 months of remaining validity and two consecutive blank pages at the time of application.

Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Must be able to travel to all countries served by United Airlines without restrictions.

Ability to pass a 10-year background check, including criminal history.

Ability to pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screenings (marijuana use is prohibited).

Meet physical requirements, including: standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting luggage.

Must pass a functional reach assessment (76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal reach).

Must be able to sit in a jump seat with the harness fastened.

Must meet FAA/United vision and hearing standards.

Professional appearance and willingness to adhere to uniform, hair, and tattoo guidelines.
Training and Onboarding
Initial training consists of 6.5 weeks in Houston, TX. During this period, United provides a $140 weekly stipend, dual-occupancy hotel accommodations, and partial meal coverage. Successful graduates receive a $1,000 bonus and are assigned to a base in Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Newark, San Francisco, or Washington Dulles.
Compensation and Benefits

Starting hourly flight pay: $28.88/hour; top of base scale: $67.11/hour.

Additional compensation for language skills, lead positions, and international trips.

Bonus eligible position (profit sharing).
