Position Overview

United Airlines is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Flight Attendants. Key Responsibilities

  • Safety Leadership: Ensure the highest standards of safety and security at all times.
  • Customer Excellence: Deliver "people-first" service, utilizing strong interpersonal skills to resolve issues with compassion and grace, while representing the United brand with pride.
  • Operational Flexibility: Maintain availability for 24/7 global assignments, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be prepared for short-notice reserve assignments and extended time away from base.
  • Service Delivery: Efficiently serve and sell food and beverages, including alcohol, in a professional manner.
  • Operational Readiness: Demonstrate dependability, timeliness, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a crew.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
  • High school diploma or GED required; two or more years of college preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of customer service experience (e.g., retail, hospitality, food service, education, or aviation).
  • Fluency in English (speaking, reading, writing, and understanding) is required.
  • Language Requirement: Must be fluent in Dutch (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Possess a valid passport with at least 12 months of remaining validity and two consecutive blank pages at the time of application.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and eligible to travel globally without restrictions.
  • Must meet physical requirements, including:
    • Ability to lift heavy objects and push/pull beverage carts up to 250 lbs.
    • Successful completion of a functional reach assessment (76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal reach).
    • Ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with harness fastened.
  • Professional appearance and willingness to adhere to uniform, grooming, tattoo, and piercing standards.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment DOT drug screens, background checks, and hearing/vision assessments. Note: Marijuana use is prohibited.
  • Proficiency in operating electronic devices such as tablets and smartphones.

Training and Compensation

The role includes a 6.5-week initial training program in Houston, TX. During this period, United provides a $140/week stipend, dual-occupancy hotel accommodations, and partial meal coverage. Upon successful graduation, trainees receive a $1,000 bonus.

Compensation: Starting hourly pay is $28.88, scaling up to $67.11. Additional compensation is available for language skills, lead positions, and international trips. This position is bonus-eligible.
