Position Overview

United Airlines is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Flight Attendants. Key Responsibilities

  • Safety First: Ensure the highest levels of safety and security for all passengers and crew during all phases of flight.
  • Customer Service: Deliver a "people-first" experience through outstanding interpersonal skills, optimism, and the ability to resolve customer concerns with compassion and grace.
  • Operational Flexibility: Maintain availability for a 24/7 global operation, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours. Must be prepared for short-notice reserve assignments and travel away from the home base for multiple consecutive days.
  • Team Collaboration: Demonstrate the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a diverse inflight crew.
  • Professional Representation: Adhere to professional grooming and uniform standards while serving as an ambassador for the United brand.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum age of 21 at the time of application.
  • High school diploma or GED required; two or more years of college preferred.
  • At least one year of customer service experience in industries such as retail, hospitality, food, education, or aviation.
  • Fluency in English (speak, read, write, and understand).
  • Language Proficiency: Must be able to read and speak German fluently.
  • Must possess a valid passport with at least 12 months of remaining validity and two consecutive blank pages.
  • Ability to travel globally to all countries served by United without restriction.
  • Authorization to work legally in the United States.
  • Must pass a 10-year criminal background check, DOT/FAA pre-employment and random drug screenings, and vision/hearing exams.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift heavy objects, push/pull beverage carts (up to 250 lbs.), and meet reach requirements (76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal).

Training and Onboarding

Selected candidates will participate in a 6.5-week Initial Training program in Houston, TX. During this period, trainees receive a $140 weekly stipend, dual-occupancy hotel accommodations, and two meals per day. Upon successful completion of training and base orientation, graduates receive a $1,000 bonus and are transitioned to full-time status.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Pay: Starting hourly pay of $28.88/hour, scaling up to $67.11/hour. Includes additional compensation for language skills, lead positions, and international trips.
