Compensation and Benefits

Competitive Pay:
Starting hourly flight pay of $28.88/hour, scaling up to $67.11/hour. Additional compensation available for language skills, lead positions, and international assignments.

Bonus-eligible position (profit sharing) and a $1,000 bonus upon successful completion of training.

Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum 21 years of age.

High school diploma or GED; two or more years of college preferred.

Minimum of one year of customer service experience in the service industry (e.g., retail, hospitality, education, or aviation).

Fluent in English (speak, read, write, and understand). Second language proficiency (including but not limited to Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, and Tagalog) is highly desirable.

Valid passport in good condition with at least 12 months of remaining validity and two consecutive blank pages.

Legally authorized to work in the United States and able to travel globally without restrictions.

Ability to pass a 10-year background check, fingerprinting, and DOT/FAA-regulated drug screens (including zero tolerance for marijuana).

Ability to meet physical requirements, including a functional reach assessment (76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal reach), lifting luggage, and operating emergency equipment.

Professional appearance and adherence to grooming, uniform, and tattoo standards.

Proficiency in operating electronic devices such as tablets and smartphones.
Training Program
Selected candidates will undergo 6.5 weeks of intensive Initial Training in Houston, TX, covering safety and service standards. While in training, United provides a $140/week stipend, dual-occupancy hotel accommodations, and meals. Upon graduation, flight attendants are assigned to one of our seven hubs: Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Newark, San Francisco, or Washington Dulles.
