As a United Airlines Flight Attendant, you will:

- Embrace flexibility: United's global network requires Flight Attendants to be available for assignments 24/7, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours. You will respond to reserve assignments on short notice and be away from your base for extended periods. Reliability and punctuality are crucial for fulfilling United's schedule and meeting customer expectations.
- Collaborate as a team player: Demonstrate a proven track record of working both independently and as part of a team.
To fulfill this exciting and dynamic role, you must possess:
- Age requirement: Be at least 21 years old at the time of application.
- Educational background: Possess a high school diploma or GED, with two or more years of college preferred.
- Customer service experience: Have at least one year of experience in the service industry, such as retail, hospitality, food service, teaching, aviation, or social services.
- Communication skills: Speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
- Language proficiency: Proficiency in a second language, such as Arabic, Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), Dutch, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, or Tagalog, is highly valued.
- Strong communication: Communicate clearly, concisely, and confidently, especially in high-stress situations such as evacuations, security threats, delays, medical emergencies, severe weather conditions, and turbulence.
- Professional appearance: Maintain a professional appearance and follow United's uniform, hair, tattoo, and piercing guidelines.
- Physical requirements: Be able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, lift heavy objects, and push and pull beverage carts (up to 250 lbs).
- Functional reach: Pass a functional reach assessment, demonstrating a combined 76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal reach.
- Travel eligibility: Possess a valid passport with 18 months of remaining validity and be eligible to travel to and from all countries served by United Airlines.
- Flexible schedule: Be willing and able to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts.
Additional requirements:
- Training: Successfully complete pre-employment drug screens, background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.
- Drug screenings: Pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screenings.
- Background check: Pass a 10-year background check, including criminal history.
- Evacuation drills: Successfully demonstrate an evacuation drill in the water (pool) during training.
