Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 21 years at the time of application.
- High school diploma or GED, with two or more years of college preferred.
- At least one year of customer service experience in the service industry (retail, hospitality, food, teaching/education, aviation, social service).
- Excellent verbal communication skills, speaking clearly, concisely, and in an organized manner, loud enough to be heard during emergencies.
- Fluency in spoken, written, and understood English.
- Fluency in spoken and written Hebrew.
- Ability to communicate effectively in high-stress situations such as aircraft evacuation, security threats, delays, medical emergencies, severe weather conditions, and turbulence.
- Professional appearance, adhering to United Airlines grooming standards and uniform, hair, tattoo, and piercing guidelines.
- Tattoos are NOT permitted on the head, hands, or neck (including behind the ears). Visible tattoos on arms, wrists, legs, and feet are allowed, but must not exceed the size of a credit card or employee badge (3.5 inches long x 2.24 inches wide) or must be covered by standard uniform pieces. Visible tattoos must not be offensive (violent, obscene, sexual, racist, or contain objectionable content or imagery including weapons).
- Decorative covers, adornments, or jewelry on teeth or in the mouth are not permitted.
- Proficiency in operating electronic devices (phones, tablets, laptops) for completing tasks.
- Possession of a valid passport with at least 18 months of remaining validity prior to application.
- Ability to travel to and from all countries served by United Airlines without any restrictions.
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, lift heavy objects (such as luggage), and push and pull beverage carts (up to 250 lbs.).
- Ability to pass a functional reach assessment with a combined 76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal reach (simultaneous), without shoes on, to operate all necessary equipment, machinery, and doors.
- Ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
- Willingness to serve and/or sell food and beverages (including alcohol) in a professional and diligent manner.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule supporting United Airlines' 24/7 operation (weekdays, weekends, holidays, etc.).
Onboarding and Training:
- Successful completion of a 6.5-week training program in Houston, TX, covering United Airlines safety and customer service standards.
- Successful demonstration of an evacuation drill in the water (pool) during training.
- Willingness to complete pre-employment DOT drug screens, comprehensive background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.
- Ability to pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens. (Medical and recreational marijuana are prohibited due to the safety-sensitive nature of the position.)
- Successful completion of a 10-year background check, including criminal background history. Your background must not restrict travel to or from any locations served by United Airlines.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive hourly pay starting at $28.88/hour, reaching a top base scale of $67.11/hour. Seniority-based pay increases and additional compensation for language skills, lead positions, and international trips.
