Essential Qualifications
- Age: 21 years or older at the time of application.
- Education: High school diploma or GED, with two or more years of college preferred.
- Experience: At least one year of customer service experience in a service industry environment (such as retail, hospitality, food, teaching/education, aviation, or social service).
- Communication Skills: Clear, concise, and organized verbal communication skills with the ability to be heard in an emergency.
- Language Proficiency: Fluent in spoken, written, and read English and Japanese.
- Physical Abilities: Able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, lift heavy objects (up to 250 lbs), and operate necessary equipment and machinery.
- Passport and Travel: Possess a valid passport with 18 months of remaining validity and the ability to travel to all countries served by United without restrictions.
- Background Check: Pass a 10-year background check, including a criminal history, and be eligible to travel to all countries United operates in.
- Drug Screening: Pass pre-employment and randomized DOT/FAA drug screens (medical and recreational marijuana prohibited).
- Medical Fitness: Pass pre-employment and ongoing medical assessments, including vision and hearing tests.
Additional Information

- Onboarding and Training: Successful completion of a water evacuation drill is required during training. A $140/week stipend, along with accommodations and two meals per day, is provided during training. Graduates receive a $1,000 bonus.
