First Officer Position – USA Jet
USA Jet, a leading North American air cargo carrier operating under the Ascent Global Logistics umbrella, seeks a highly skilled and motivated First Officer to join its team at Willow Run Airport in Belleville, MI. Responsibilities:
Reporting administratively to the Chief Pilot and functionally to the assigned Captain during FAR 121 duty periods, the First Officer will perform a variety of crucial flight operations and support tasks. These include, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, including the USA Jet General Operations Manual, FARs, OpSpecs, and Aircraft Flight Manual.
- Verifying adherence to flight and duty time limitations, confirming adequate rest, and maintaining proper uniform.
- Keeping the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) informed of all flight phases, per company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). At the PIC's discretion, additional responsibilities may be assigned, such as:
- Flight plan filing, opening, and closing.
- Conducting pre- and post-flight inspections.
- Verifying the presence of all necessary documents, navigational aids, manuals, and equipment.
- Participating in cargo and/or passenger loading and unloading (as applicable).
- Supervising and/or securing cargo, cargo nets, and flight crew barriers.
- Ensuring proper stowage of carry-on items.
- Briefing couriers and jumpseaters.
- Performing Air Traffic Control (ATC) communications.
- Actively participating in training for Captain upgrade, utilizing all available resources and instruction from the Captain.
- Assisting other crew members as needed.
- Adhering to all Transportation Security Administration (TSA) mandated ground security requirements, including responsibilities as Ground Security Coordinator (GSC), and ensuring aircraft, cargo, and passenger security protocols are met.
- Ensuring all air cargo is handled in accordance with domestic and international regulations and company requirements, including acceptance, inspection, loading, and securement.
- Actively participating in USA Jet's Safety Programs and Safety Management System, promptly reporting all safety concerns, and maintaining a safe working environment for oneself and colleagues in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Organization standards.
Qualifications:
Candidates must possess:
- All necessary licenses and certificates as outlined in the company manual.
- Completion of all required training, checking, and qualification requirements as defined in approved USA Jet manuals.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
