Key Responsibilities of a Cabin Crew Member

The Cabin Crew is entrusted with ensuring the safety, comfort, and exceptional service experience of all passengers. Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Conducting thorough pre-flight briefings to ensure preparedness.
• Warmly welcoming passengers aboard and efficiently directing them to their assigned seats.
• Verifying the functionality of all emergency equipment prior to departure and clearly demonstrating essential safety procedures and equipment to passengers.
• Ensuring the secure stowage of all hand luggage within the cabin.
• Confirming that all passenger seat belts are fastened and galleys are secured before take-off.
• Providing efficient in-flight service, including the distribution and collection of meal trays.
• Distributing necessary documentation, such as landing cards, where required.
• Administering first aid promptly and effectively when necessary.
• Efficiently managing and responding to all types of in-flight emergencies.

Candidate Requirements

Prospective candidates are expected to meet the following comprehensive criteria:

Education

• A minimum of Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or an equivalent qualification is required, with a minimum GPA of 3.00 out of 5.00 in both SSC and HSC or equivalent examinations. Results equivalent to a Third Division in any academic examination will not be accepted.
• For Diploma Degrees, a minimum CGPA of 2.80 out of 4.00 is mandatory.
• For 'O' Level qualifications, a maximum of 05 subjects with an average grade of 'D' is acceptable. For 'A' Level qualifications, a maximum of 02 subjects with an average grade of 'D' is acceptable. General Educational Development (GED) qualifications are not recognized.
• Candidates holding a Graduation Degree are strongly preferred.

Height

• Male candidates: Minimum 168 cm (5 feet 6 inches).
• Female candidates: Minimum 161 cm (5 feet 3 inches).
• All candidates must demonstrate an arm reach of 212 cm while standing on tiptoes.

Weight

• Weight must be proportionate to height.
• For male candidates: Body Mass Index (BMI) should be between 18 and 25.
• For female candidates: BMI is preferably between 18 and 22; however, a BMI up to 25 may be considered for exceptional candidates.

Age

• Freshers: Between 18 and 27 years of age as of the application deadline.
• Experienced Candidate: Up to a maximum of 35 years of age. Only prior experience as a Cabin Crew will be considered for this category. Affidavits are not accepted regarding age.

Eyesight

• Applicants must possess a visual acuity of 6/6 without the aid of spectacles. Corrected vision up to 6/6 is acceptable. Candidates with color blindness will not be considered.

Swimming Proficiency

• Candidates demonstrating existing swimming skills will be given preference during the selection process. All finally selected candidates are required to acquire swimming proficiency during the initial training period.

Language Skills

• Fluency in both written and spoken Bengali and English is mandatory. Proficiency in other languages will be considered a significant advantage.

Medical Fitness

• Applicants must be in excellent physical health and medically fit to fulfill all Cabin Crew requirements as per aviation standards.

Physical Appearance

• Candidates should exhibit a strong, upright posture, with no visible tattoos or prominent marks on the body.

Attitude & Bearing

• A positive and impressive demeanor, coupled with an appealing and professional personality, is essential.

Residency Requirement

• Upon successful joining, candidates are required to reside in areas adjacent to or around Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA), such as Nikunja or Uttara Model Town (Sector 01 to Sector 14).
