UPS is seeking a Remote Pilot in Command (RPIC) - Level 1 to join our innovative team in Winston-Salem, North Carolina (R24016776). This is a permanent position within the Strategy Group, offering the opportunity to be at the forefront of the rapidly evolving UAS industry.
As RPIC - Level 1, you will be entrusted with:
- Ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient operation of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).
- Meticulous pre-flight planning, including weather analysis, NOTAM review, and airspace assessment.
- Executing customer missions with precision and adhering to all safety regulations.
- Maintaining comprehensive pre and post-flight logs and documenting UAS performance.
- Performing equipment testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance to ensure optimal UAS functionality.
- Managing UAS spares and component inventory, documenting all maintenance actions.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless and safe flight operations.
- Traveling to customer locations as needed, utilizing personal or company-provided vehicles (with approved expense reimbursement).
To excel in this role, you possess:
- A minimum of six months of aviation experience, encompassing either unmanned or manned aircraft (rotary or fixed-wing).
- A valid FAA Remote Pilot Certificate.
- A valid FAA Third Class Medical Certificate.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred qualifications that will set you apart:
- FAA Commercial Certificate or other FAA Airmen Certificates.
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- Proficiency with Ground Control Station software (e.g., Mission Planner, QGroundControl).
