This individual is primarily accountable for the secure and effective operation of the aircraft during both ground and flight activities. The First Officer is expected to surpass customer expectations, while maintaining clear and consistent communication with leadership, team members, and dispatch.
This position reports administratively to the Chief Pilot and holds primary responsibility for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft. The First Officer will anticipate customer requirements and endeavor to exceed them. Compliance with FAA regulations, the company's General Operations Manual, Operational Specifications, and departmental procedures is mandatory. Maintaining effective communication and coordination with the assigned crew, dispatch, maintenance, and administration is essential. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by management or senior leadership.
The role requires the maintenance of an FAA First Class Medical Certificate. The individual must also be able to remain seated for prolonged periods within a confined space.
The work environment is characterized by extended periods of sitting. Interaction with customers and other flight crew will occur within a compact area. This position may necessitate spending multiple days or weeks away from home on a weekly basis. Irregular work hours are to be expected and the individual should be prepared for possible short notice calls to fly or be notified of flight cancellations.
