Position Purpose:

Act as co-pilot (second-in-command) on Home Depot aircraft. May hold copilot qualifications on two types of aircraft. Assists the captain in trip execution from pre-flight through post-flight duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 10% – ADMINISTRATION – Must be able to complete non-flight projects assigned by Chief Pilot or Assistant Chief Pilot.
  • 15% – FLIGHT OPERATIONS – Maintain a thorough knowledge of aircraft systems, company procedures, and industry best practices.
  • 20% – REGULATORY – Be thoroughly familiar and comply with the company Flight Operations Manual, FAA and ICAO regulations.
  • 10% – SAFETY – Proactively participate in the aviation department safety management system.
  • 15% – TRAINING – Complete Semi-annual 61.58 (or 61.55b) checks and all other assigned aviation and corporate training.
  • 30% – TRIP EXECUTION – Assist the PIC in trip execution from Pre-flight through post flight duties; be prepared to assume the duties of the PIC during the PIC's absence or in the event the PIC becomes incapacitated.

Travel Requirements:

  • Typically requires overnight travel more than 50% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, and lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.

Working Conditions:

  • Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2000 hours flight time are required. 500 hours large turboprop or Jet and 500 hours Pilot-in-Command.
  • Ability to achieve type rating in Home Depot jet aircraft within one year of date of hire.
  • Airline Transport Pilot
  • First Class Medical
  • FCC Restricted Radio Operator Permit
  • Successfully complete an FAA part 142 initial training course earning a type rating or 61.55b endorsement.
  • Valid Passport

Minimum Education:

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.

Preferred Education:

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of an associate's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
