Aircraft Avionics Technician

This position is for an Aircraft Avionics Technician responsible for performing functional testing, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics systems on board aircraft located at a Textron Aviation Service Center.

Responsibilities:

The technician performs functional testing required to isolate customer complaints within specific avionics systems and is responsible for repairing aircraft systems in accordance with FAA procedures. Key duties include diagnosing problems based on in-flight analysis and/or evaluation of information received from customers, and taking appropriate corrective action. The role involves troubleshooting problems to identify defective units or wiring discrepancies. The technician is required to replace defective units, repair wiring, and modify aircraft as necessary. As required, the technician may accompany a pilot in flight to functionally test repaired systems and/or aligned systems. Work is performed utilising aircraft orders, wiring diagrams, and oral and written instructions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: A High School education or equivalent is required. College or technical school and/or military electronic schools are preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in aircraft avionics system troubleshooting and repair is required.
  • Additional: Must be able to obtain and maintain an airport security badge through the local airport authority, if applicable. An Airframe and Power Plant Certification is preferred.
