Lead A&P Mechanic / Aircraft Maintenance Technician
A leading aviation facility is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced full-time Lead A&P Mechanic or Aircraft Maintenance Technician for immediate hire. This pivotal role is essential to the facility's operations, and a sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 is offered to qualified candidates.
The Lead A&P Mechanic will play a critical role in maintaining the airworthiness and operational readiness of various aircraft. This position involves performing complex diagnostic and mechanical tasks, potentially specializing in a specific area of aircraft maintenance. The Lead Mechanic is also responsible for guiding and overseeing the work of their crew, providing instruction and training as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing complex diagnostic and mechanical tasks on aircraft systems and components, including troubleshooting malfunctions, disassembly, repair, reassembly, and adjustment to prepare aircraft for flight.
- Executing maintenance, checks, corrections, and replacements of complex aircraft assemblies and systems such as landing gear, air conditioning, pressurization systems, turbochargers, and optional equipment installations.
- Repairing or replacing engine components and accessories, including carburetors, fuel control units, fuel injection systems, air bleed systems, oil and fuel pumps, starter/generators, and hydraulic and vacuum pumps.
- Conducting aircraft modification work on systems and structures, which may involve minor upholstery and touch-up paint work.
- Maintaining accurate written reports in maintenance logs and inspection documents. May also participate in observing mechanical systems during flight for troubleshooting purposes.
- Providing guidance, instruction, and job-related training to maintenance technicians within the crew.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Must possess a valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License.
- Demonstrated knowledge of 100-hour, annual, and progressive inspection procedures in accordance with FAR Part 43 is essential.
- A minimum of 5 years of diversified experience as an A&P Mechanic is required, working with jet, turboprop, and piston aircraft, including experience in modification, 100-hour, and annual services.
- Experience performing aircraft maintenance on Textron Aviation aircraft is highly preferred.
- A total of 10 years of aviation maintenance experience or experience in a customer service facility performing inspections and repair is desirable.
- Knowledge of arithmetic, the ability to interpret blueprints and specifications, and a strong understanding of jet and piston airframe and engine principles and aircraft mechanical systems are necessary.
- Previous experience guiding or supervising maintenance technicians is required for this Lead position.
