Aviation Instructor
Texas State Technical College (TSTC) is seeking an experienced and passionate Aviation Instructor to join our faculty. The instructor will deliver approved curriculum, facilitate engaging activities, and provide targeted guidance to students in an applied learning setting.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and deliver high-quality instruction, facilitating student learning through creative and innovative techniques tailored to diverse learning styles.

Interpret and administer assessments, providing constructive feedback to support student growth and learning outcomes.

Integrate technology effectively to enhance educational experiences.

Serve as an ambassador for the program and TSTC, participating in recruitment events and departmental planning.

Fulfill assigned schedules, maintain accurate student records, and ensure a safe and secure instructional environment.

Provide student advisement, collaborating with support services to enhance retention.

Exhibit teamwork, flexibility, and a commitment to the college's mission, vision, and values.

Mentor and coach students, providing personalized guidance and fostering open communication.

Continuously evaluate and improve teaching strategies based on assessment outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
-
Experienced pilot with 1500+ flight hours.
-
Minimum of 3 years of industry experience as a Commercial Pilot, Transport Pilot, or Military Pilot.

FAA Certified Flight Instructor/Instrument certification.

Demonstrated competency to instruct Instrument ground with up-to-date knowledge of FAA regulatory requirements.

Willingness and ability to mentor and perform training at or above FAA standards, with a strong emphasis on safety.

Demonstrated competency in regulatory requirements for Private Pilot, Instrument, Commercial, and CFI certifications.

Strong interpersonal communication skills and professionalism.

Commercial Pilot License and current Certified Flight Instructor Certification.
Preferred Qualifications:

Five years of industry experience.

Current Medical, MEI, AGI, IGI, and UAS certifications.

High level of Aeronautical Decision Making skills.

Competency in aircraft systems and aeronautical knowledge.

Flexibility to adapt to industry needs and FAA regulatory changes.
Compensation and Benefits:

Salary range starts at $78,520, with a mid-point of $90k+.

Eligible for an additional $6,000 annually in semester retention bonuses.
