Position Summary

Tactical Air Support Inc. is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced F-16 Simulator Instructor to join its dedicated team in Thumrait, Oman. This full-time position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a dedicated professional to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the F-16 Block 50 aircraft. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive academic training and advanced simulator instruction to pilots, leveraging cutting-edge Full Mission Simulators (FMS) and Instructor Operating Stations (IOS). This role is critical for the continuous development, refinement, and updates of pilot training courseware, ensuring the highest standards of readiness and proficiency within a dynamic aviation environment. The ideal candidate will be an experienced F-16 instructor pilot ready to contribute significantly to pilot education.

Key Responsibilities

The F-16 Simulator Instructor holds significant responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Providing expert instruction to pilots on ground and flight procedures and techniques, preparing detailed lesson plans.
  • Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) by applying advanced technical concepts in aviation and aiding in the creation and refinement of training materials.
  • Assisting in the meticulous preparation of training schedules.
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed training records for all students.
  • Ensuring that all course standards, training requirements, and objectives are consistently met by each student.
  • Rigorously evaluating and monitoring student performance to identify areas for improvement and ensure mastery of skills.

Required Qualifications

Prospective candidates for the F-16 Simulator Instructor position must demonstrate a robust background and possess the following essential qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree coupled with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience.
  • Current or former designation as an F-16 Instructor Pilot.
  • A proven track record of at least 1000 hours of F-16 flight experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with a minimum of 1500 hours of Fighter Flight Time in fourth and/or fifth-generation multi-role fighter aircraft.
  • Current or demonstrable experience as a United States Air Force (USAF) Instructor Pilot (IP) with extensive multi-role fighter experience.
  • Lawful eligibility to work in the United States, including the ability to complete a U.S. government I-9 form and successfully pass a comprehensive government background check.
  • An active, current Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance, with the investigation or CV date within the last five (5) years.

Desired Skills & Experience

Candidates possessing the following additional skills and experiences will be highly regarded:

  • Graduation from a recognized Weapon School.
  • Previous experience as an Undergraduate Pilot Training (UPT) or Fighter Training Unit (FTU) instructor.
  • Experience with F-16C Block 40 or greater aircraft.

Work Environment & Conditions

This role involves operating in environments such as aircraft hangars or warehouses, which may expose the instructor to loud noises, fumes from engines and chemicals, unpredictable climate conditions (hot/cold), and potential hazards including electrical shock, or trip/slip risks. The position may also require handling hazardous materials. Specific work hours are determined by operational, departmental, or contractual requirements, and occasional evening, weekend, holiday, and overtime work may be necessary. Occasional travel to various work sites may also be required. The selected candidate must be lawfully eligible to work Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) and complete a U.S. government I-9 Form.
